Bands - Lone Prairie    sample:

It was the love of vintage Western music that brought together this uniquely talented and entertaining group of Northern California singers and Musicians. Lone Prairie. The main singers at it's core - Jack Sadler (who hails from Okalahoma), Joe Kimbro (born and raised in Alabama), Paul King (Born in Oregon) - all grew up listening to the songs of the original Sons of the Pioneers, on radio, in concert halls and on records.

Although Jack, Joe and Paul had played and sung bluegrass and classic country music, both casually and professionally for over twenty years, it was not until 1988 at a holiday party that they discovered their remarkable vocal blend in the Western genre. And yet it still took them until 1993, at the urging of Joe, to truly pursue the painstaking task of choosing and seriously working on a repertoire. As they met the challenge of perfecting their harmonies - particularly their signature three-part yodeling - their love for Western music grew, as did their enthusiasm to share it with an audience.

With the addition of Ed Neff on fiddle, Barbara Ann Barnett on accordion and Karen Quick on bass their sound solidified into one of the most listenable bands around, and the release of their first album was an award winning attempt.

The "Just Right" combination of Jack Sadler, Joe Kimbro and Paul King's voices are the focal point of this second CD from Lone Prairie. (Second album will be available April 20th, 2007)

This new CD is just what you could hope for if you love western cowboy songs. Old favorites lovingly presented and original tunes already sounding familiar make this an enormously satisfactory listen.

Mark McCornack, Karen Quick and Ed Neff are essential for the fat appropriate sound of the banjo, bass and fiddle. This six-piece ensemble presents the best in the western sound rooted in the tradition of the sons of the pioneers.
